How The Coronavirus Infects the NZ Jobs Market
The coronavirus has changed the legal scene in a variety of ways. However a LawFuel survey of major law recruiters shows that it is not a 'doom and gloom' situation, although too early to make early conclusions about the long-term impact of the crisis.
A couple of things that did emerge from the LawFuel survey however is that lawyers will need to be more flexible in the way they approach their jobs, and that some areas of law are going to benefit more than others from the coronavirus crisis.
Among the higher growth areas are those in employment law, company and commercial law, insolvency and immigration.
There are also some growing opportunities from the Asian legal market where many of the countries have 'flattened their curve' and provided opportunities for the law market to recover more quickly.
